Nicanor Zalba Olaizola
CEO
Nicanor obtained his degree in Biochemistry from the University of Navarra (UNAV). He later worked in the pharmaceutical industry, where he conceived the idea of founding a company specializing in custom protein design. Following this, he pursued a Master’s in Molecular Biology and Biomedicine at the University of the Basque Country (UPV), as well as studies in chemistry and mathematics at the National University of Distance Education (UNED). His academic and technical development culminated in a Ph.D. on the effects of cosolutes and molecular crowding on protein stability and kinetic properties, conducted at the Cooperative Research Center BioGUNE under the supervision of Oscar Millet, followed by a postdoctoral position focusing on the development of language models for protein design in collaboration with the Artificial Intelligence and Approximate Reasoning Group (GIARA) led by Humberto Bustince at UPNA.
He is currently a co-founder and CEO at InsAIght, where he also serves as a researcher involved in the computational development and experimental validation of AI models for custom protein design.

Pablo Ursúa Medrano
CTO
Pablo is a Computer Engineer from the Public University of Navarra (UPNA) with a Master’s in Biostatistics and Bioinformatics (UOC) and experience in structural protein design using artificial intelligence (AI). Throughout his career, he has worked on implementing deep learning models for medical image processing with convolutional neural networks (CNNs) and developing generative models for protein design in the context of health and environmental applications.
His career began in ERP and SAP technologies, where he gained expertise in human resources management and data analysis. In recent years, he has collaborated with the GIARA-UPNA research group on projects integrating fuzzy theory with machine learning and was actively involved in the Fusiprod project. He has also had the opportunity to apply his skills in high-performance computing (HPC) environments, such as Marenostrum 5 (RES) and NASERTIC.
He is currently a co-founder and CTO at InsAIght, where he leads innovative AI research projects focused on bioinformatics and protein design through advanced AI technologies.

Administrator
María José has extensive experience in financial management and administration, gained in companies such as Lanik I.S.A., where she held the position of financial director for nearly 30 years, and Proyectos Onddi SA, where she continued her career in finance. She holds a degree in Business Administration from the University of Deusto and brings to InsAIght her expert knowledge in financial management and administrative control.
